The labels that appear on UI controls are inside the resource (xrc)
files in wxOil/xrc/EN. Alex - what should a translator do to translate

You shouldn't need to do anything with them. wx itself is meant to
call the wx equivalent of gettext when it loads the XRC files.

You should not need to produce a Resources folder etc. to run a translation.
That's the "old" way of doing it. It should (both for wx loaded resources
and others) find the translation table itself. Clearly all this is
rough at the edges (for which read "untested" :-) ).
