Yes, it should do. One of the example filters uses .xar (it passes the
Xar format data directly through so the conversion system can be tested
easily).
The dialog should remember which filter you used last but you should
probably check each time you export to make sure that it is working
properly...

Ah OK. And that works even if there are two filters with the same
extensions?
