RE: [XaraXtreme-dev] Text on path indents

The non-wrapping text on a curve can actually be quite useful as the
text that overflows the ends of the curve keeps following the direction
of the curve. Also, there is the issue of backwards compatibility. I
certainly have test files that rely on this behaviour and there must be
quite a few files in the wild that do too.

I think a much more useful feature would be a way to toggle a story
between wrapping and non-wrapping (regardless of whether it is on a
curve). At present you have to create a new story and copy the content
across.

I class this as a design bug. There is no way the behaviour should be
different depending on how the text on the line was created.

And just clicking and typing on the line is normal way of creating a
non-wrapping text story, so this is just incredibly inconsistent (and
would also explain a lot of customer support hassle we get on this
feature)

It's all tied up with your new margin stuff I guess Martin, which is why
you're asking I presume.

For consistency are you thinking of showing margins on the ruler for
text on a curve just as you do for normal text?

Either way I'd like this behaviour changed. Selecting 'fit text to
curve' should be creating a wrapping story, just as it does if you type
text on a curve. The margin handles should be visible at all times.
